It is so hot here till the birds won't sing. Everything around is burning up.

Dave Coleman has finally moved back to Rosston. He has a beautiful home. We won't have any old people around. They are really dying out around Rosston, young and old.

Sylvester Hicks' funeral was Thursday, August 17, at Bethel AME Church of Hope. Sylvester was a mortician and funeral director. He was a good friend to the Kendrick family. Sympathy goes out to the family.

Mr. Deville Gulley is back in the hospital in Camden. He lives alone and that isn't good for him.

Mrs. Benora Box went to see Mrs. Girtie Blake Friday. She is still in the rehab in Hope. She is our Eastern Star sister. She has been in there quite some time.

Mr. Jewel Muldrow is in the hospital in Texarkana.

My cousins, Milton Young and his wife visited me almost a week. They live in Atlanta, Ga. They called me when they got there.

I am glad the homecoming is over. Maybe the people will stop talking. We need someone to work and not talk. People bury relatives over there and forget about them. There are some from off send money to help take care of the cemetery. The following people sent money from Rockford, Ill.: Joe T. Latin, $25; Charles Latin, $25; Odell Simpson, $25; Robert Simpson, $25; Samuel Meadows and Richard Meadows, $20; William Simpson, $25; Willie Leaks, $25; Peggy E. Woodford, $20; Nomin Edd, $10 from Hope; and Lue Nell Desmuke, $25. Mr. Elmer Lee Young is the only one who helped. He did too much work around the graveyard he almost got sick.

My niece, Merlyn Dixon Leffard, visited me Tuesday from Berkeley, Calif., and nephew Freddie Dixon from Mineral Springs.

Mrs. Vera Purifoy stopped by from church Sunday to see how I was doing. Fannie Gulley checks on me daily. I thank God for people like them.

I went to the dentist Monday. If not one thing it is another.
