Mistie Holley Sets ConcertPublished Sunday, August 13, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneMistie Holley will be featured in her own concert this Friday night at Klipsch Auditorium in Hope in Nistro's Country Revue. She is a 17-year-old senior at Prescott High School. Holley has been singing for seven years, beginning at The Chicken and Egg Festival. Her regular shows include Oaklawn Opry in Texarkana; Ashdown Jamboree; Columbia County Hayride in Magnolia; Watermelon Festival in Hope; Chicken and Egg Festival in Prescott; Governor Conway Days in Bradley; and Hillcrest Nursing Home. Holley's special appearances include Wylie Opry in Wiley, Texas; Carrolton Opry in Carrolton, Texas; Lumber Jack Festival in Springhill, La.; Forrest Festival in Gurdon; Hempstead County Fair Pageant; Nevada County Christmas on the Square; Lewisville Courthouse; Lawrence Welk Theatre in Branson, Mo.; Music Mountain Jamboree in Hot Springs; and Star Search 2000 in Little Rock. As a reigning Teen Miss Southwest Arkansas, she has sung at numerous pageants and other functions. She has competed at the Arkansas State Fair teen talent shows as a representative for Nevada County. At Prescott High School, she is a member of FFA, FBLA, Art Club, Science Club, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Student Council and Wolf Trail editor. She plans to attend Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia with a major in communications with a minor in music. She is planning on joining the Encore group that SAU offers. Along with going to school, she plans on furthering her singing career. Holley will also appear September 9 at the Ashdown Jamboree. Nistro's Country Review begins at 7:00 p.m. at Klipsch Auditorium in Hope's City Hall. Tickets will b e $6 at the door.
