Golden Oldies

The Gurdon center held its monthly council meeting July 23. This was also dine-out night for the seniors at Bowen's.

The center enjoyed the birthday cake provided by Thomason's Big Star on Thursday of last week.

Those with July birthdays were Joe Kustin, Vera Nix, Ollie Purifoy, Joyce Quillen, Lillian Manson, Patsy Stiffler, Freda Thomas and Gladine McGill. We wish them many more happy birthdays.

The center wishes to welcome our new activity/volunteer coordinator, Sharon Hearn. She comes to the center after working for CADC in the head start program. She is really a nice person and we look forward to the activities she is planning for next month.

Some of our members have had surgery and some are unable to be out because of sickness. Our love and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones.

It is hard to believe that we have reached the first of August. Time flies by so quickly. We want to extend an invitation to those who would like a nice cool place to be during this terribly hot weather.

You can enjoy a delicious meal and visit with your friends and make new ones.
