Living WellPublished Wednesday, May 26, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneGet those recipes out, and get ready to cook your way to a $50 first place win in this year's Chicken and Egg Festival cooking contest. The rules are very simple. First, call Mary Godwin at the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce at 870- 887-2101 to register. Then on Friday, June 11, bring the prepared chicken (or egg) dish with the recipe to the First Baptist Church educational building between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Past winners may not submit the same recipe, but can enter with a new one. The recipes must be typed or legibly printed on a 8.5x11-inch sheet of paper (one side only) and include your name, address and telephone number. The chicken recipe must contain at least one pound or three ounces of cooked chicken per serving. A recipe submitted in the egg category must contain a minimum of three eggs in the recipe. The eggs must be used as the key ingredient of the recipe. There will be a first and second place winner in each category. First place will be awarded $50 and second place will be awarded $25.
