Harvey D. Montgomery, 83, of Prescott died Monday, July 26, 2000, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Montgomery was born July 4, 1917, in the Sweet Home community near Blevins to Maunt and Esther Britt Montgomery. He was retired from Collier Furniture Co. in Hope. He was a member of Sweet Home Methodist Church, Sweet Home Committee and Ebenezer Cemetery Committee. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Laurice Mouser Montgomery of Prescott; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Montgomery of Prescott and Danny and Brenda Montgomery of Frisco, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Cowart of Prescott and Cathy and Drew Delametter of Murfreesboro; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 29, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Harley Sisson officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery in Hempstead County under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
