Revival Begins Today At Macedonia ChurchPublished Wednesday, August 2, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneRevival services will be held August 2, 3 and 4 at 7:00 nightly at Macedonia Baptist Church in Boughton. Dr. Christopher Bullock of Chicago, Ill., is the evangelist. Bullock is a native of Wichita, Kan. He holds a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Alaska in Anchorage, a master of divinity degree from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, N.Y., and he has earned a doctor of ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Bullock also holds a certificate of completion - summer leadership institute from Harvard University, the divinity school in Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Bullock formerly served as the pastor of the historic Eighth Street Baptist Church of Wilmington, Del. The Eighth Street Church experienced phenomenal ministry growth under his visionary pastoral leadership. Dr. Bullock is currently the pastor of Progressive Baptist Church of Chicago, Ill. Progressive is one of the largest and leading churches in Chicago that offers a host of ministries in Christian education, missions, youth, evangelism, housing, family life enrichment and social justice. He also serves as commissioner on discrimination and hate crimes of the state of Illinois. He is chairman of the religious affairs committee of the Chicago Southside branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and a member of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, where he serves on the civil rights commission. He has also served as a honorary advisor to the government of South Africa at the United Nations in New York. Dr. Bullock is a recipient of many prestigious local, state and national honors.
