All parents are encouraged to visit your child's classroom and discuss classroom procedures, handbook policies and transportation. Ray and Nikki Thomas of Arkadelphia proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Kacie Nicole, born Thursday, July 6, 2000, at 8:52 a.m. at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. Great grandparents are Harry Thomas of Gurdon, and Earl and Vivian Burton and Sewell and Nettie Daniell of Arkadelphia. Great great grandmother is Stella Huneycutt of Arkadelphia. The family of the late George and Etter Cooper and their son, Jessie Cooper will be holding a family reunion at the Stevens Pavillion, Stevens Park Campgrounds, in Mountain Pine. The board of directors of Central Arkansas Development Council will meet Saturday, July 29, at the Ramada Inn, 218 Park Avenue in Hot Springs at 1:00 p.m. Interested persons are invited to attend. The Arkadelphia 2025 Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, July 26, (today) at 4:30 p.m. This is a very important meeting where members will discuss the goals and objectives of the two new committees: the TEA-21/Streetscape Committee and the Economic Development Committee. The Clark County Equalization Board will be in session beginning August 1 to review assessments and hear taxpayers appeals in Clark County. Appointments are now begin made by contacting: Rhonda L. First Assembly of God Sunday school will sponsor an ice cream stand on Thomason's Big Star's parking lot Saturday, July 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Homemade ice cream cones will sell for 25". The ice cream stand is a promotion effort for the upcoming weekend family crusade. Debbie with her Dummies!,' featuring Debra Thompson of Newport, will be at First Assembly July 28-30. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.
