Yarber, moderator. Everyone is welcome. Annual coming-home pack a pew, family and friends day will be held August 6 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Clair Baptist Church of Burtsell. Rev. L.B. Beard, pastor. Everyone is welcome. Special guests will be Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of Gurdon, Rev. Johnny Harris, pastor and speaker, and Green Hill Baptist Church of Marshall, Texas, Rev. E.J. Henderson, pastor. Annual homecoming will be held August 6 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guest will be Evergreen Baptist Church of Nash, Texas, Rev. A.T. Jordon, pastor and speaker. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor. Senior citizen day will be Sunday, August 13, at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Temple Church of God In Christ in Prescott. Everyone is welcome. Sis. Virginia Livingston is in charge. Elder Leroy Sworn, pastor. Annual choir day Sunday, August 13, at 3:00 p.m. at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church of Prescott. Special guest will be New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Mrs. Helen Burton of Chicago, Ill., has returned home after attending the Welch family reunion and visiting her son, Winfred and Margret Burton, her daughter, Jerine Hatley, her grandson, Little Winfred Burton, and family, her brother, Joe and Hazel Welch, niece Valree Smith at church, her nephew, Floyd and Margree Gattis, other grandchildren of the city and Benton, and other relatives. She was accompanied home by her niece, Laura Grigsley of Burtsell, who will be visiting her daughter, Jessie, and Geneva Gilbert also of Illinois and grandchildren. Virgil and Bennie Mae Johnson of Madison, Wis., are here visiting her niece, Jerine Hatley, and family. They also attended the homecoming in Beirne, other relatives and friends in Prescott, Hope, Benton, Hot Springs, Little Rock, Pine Bluff and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Beel and son of Omaha, Neb., Rev. Maud E. Echoles and son, Gussie Kellibruah also of Omaha are visiting their sister, Andy and Christine Hatley, cousin, Mr. and Mrs. William Hunter of Beirne, their brother, Henry Bell, and Henry Bell Jr. and other relatives and friends of Gurdon and surrounding areas. They also attended the homecoming in Beirne. Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey and sister Helen of Los Angeles, Calif., are here visiting their mother, Ola Mae Bailey of Burtsell, where they will attend the Arkansas picnic in Michigan, their Aunt Gilbert and Morton Davis of Gurdon and other relatives in Okolona, Malvern and surrounding areas. The Welch family held its family reunion July 21-23, here in Gurdon. Local residents, Winfred and Margaret Burton, served as host and hostess. Weekend activities began on Friday evening with a special hour and church services at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The picnic was held Saturday afternoon at the Gurdon City Park. The banquet was also held Saturday at Clark County Youth Development Center in Gurdon. Although the reunion activities were scheduled to end on Sunday, the Welch children served brunch on Monday at the home of Joe and Hazel Welch. Those who attended were Jerine Hatley and family of Gurdon; Alma Benjamin-Welch and family of Osceola; Hassie Joe Welch and family of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Laura Welch-Davis and family of Chicago, Ill.; Loretha Welch-Roberts and family of Flint, Mich.; Sandra Welch-Blevin and family of Memphis, Tenn.; Lois Welch-Williams and family of Gurdon; Helen Welch-Burton and family of Chicago, Ill.; Winfred and Mararet Welch-Burton and family of Gurdon; Floyd Gatlin and family of Gurdon; Laura Grigsby and family of Burtsell; Joe and Hazel Welch and family of Gurdon; Rita Esters-Boyd and family of Memphis, Tenn.; Patrich Blevins and family of Memphis, Tenn.; Cleo Welch-Nelson and family; Ella Welch-Barbon; Valree Smith and Margree Gatlin.
