Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse July 27, August 24 and September 28. Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213. S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. Nevada County Fair Queen entry forms are now available at the Chamber of Commerce. Deadline to enter all the pageants is August 12. For more information or questions call Lisa McClure at 887-2299. The Chamber of Commerce has plastic litter bags for your car or truck. These bags are from Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Nevada County. The phone books and litter bags are free. There will be preaching in the morning, then lunch with singing in the afternoon. The Peters Family will be entertaining. Teddy and Tori Rocole of Magnolia would like to announce the birth of their son, Joe Donald Rocole, born June 16, 2000, in El Dorado. He weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 20 inches long. He has one sister, Kathryne. His grandparents are Don and Norma Rocole and Jimmy and Booie Williams all of Prescott. Great grandparents are Bill and Maxine Freeman of Prescott, Evelyn Self of Bendor and Roscoe and Marguerite Williams of Rosston. Hope Church of Christ will be having vacation Bible school, The Life of Moses,' July 31 through August 3 from 7:00 to 8:30 each night. Allyson Rae Goodwin was born Thursday, July 20, 2000, at 1:13 a.m. at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She weighed six pounds, six ounces and was 19 inches long. Her parents are Mike and Deborah Goodwin of Prescott. Her big brother is Morgan Goodwin of Prescott. She is the granddaughter of Junior and Ann Goodwin of Prescott, Doris Sanchez of Tucson, Ariz., Ray and Patricia Klouda of Elmhurst, Ill., and the late Karen Klouda of Downers Grove, Ill. The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce will host a reception for the Prescott Little League All-Star teams Thursday, July 27, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The reception will be held at the chamber office for the 9- and 10-year-old group, as well as the 11- and 12-year old players. Everyone is encouraged to attend the reception to show your support for the outstanding job these kids did in representing Prescott and Nevada County.
