Steve Ward Wins Sixth Race At Rollin' Stone Track

Published Wednesday, July 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

Steve Ward in IMCA modified car 350 came from fifth position in the line-up to pick up his sixth straight win at Rollin' Stone Speedway Friday night. In a line-up of 14 cars only four finished the race.

The reward for anyone taking the checkered flag from Ward is up to $140.

Coming in second was Jarred Landers in car #777. Third place went to Brady Adams. Jimmy Dixion was fourth in car #57D.

Ward gave the fans more excitement in the pure stock race when he literally crashed and burned in the fifth lap of the feature race. He wasn't hurt, but we can't say the same about his car #40.

Taking the checkered flag in this class was John Sharp, #74. Eddie Utchman in #9 came in second while Dwight Weeks in car #10X came in third.

Jimmy Davin in #45 won first place in street stock with J.D. Boyette came in second in car #42 while car #B4 with Buddy Burnhart driving took third.

Hobby class winners were Jason Lishman, #28, Doug Cogbill, #50 and Bobby Jordan, #17.

This coming Friday the track will begin racing quads. Anyone who owns a four-wheeler can race.
