Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse July 27, August 24 and September 28. Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213. S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. Nevada County Fair Queen entry forms will be available at the Chamber of Commerce July 19. Deadline to enter all the pageants is August 12. For more information or questions call Lisa McClure at 887-2299. The Chamber of Commerce has Prescott-Hope phone books available for anyone who needs them. They also have plastic litter bags for your car or truck. These bags are from Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Nevada County. The phone books and litter bags are free. If you need more information call the chamber at 887-2101 or go by the office at 116 East Second. A public meeting will be held Tuesday, July 25, at 5:00 p.m. at the Nevada County Courthouse to discuss recreational need for the city of Prescott, and to prioritize those needs. The meeting is open to the public. The Chamber of Commerce is asking for input for the needs, especially from any minorities. A revival at Morris Baptist Church will begin July 24 with services starting at 7:30 each evening. The evangelist will be Bro. Richard Merritt of Trinity Baptist Church in Camden. The fifth Sunday fellowship will be July 30. There will be preaching in the morning, then lunch with singing in the afternoon. The Peters Family will be entertaining. Daniel and Elizabeth Mitchell of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their son, Madison Drake, born Sunday, July 2, 2000. He was born at University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock. Madison weighed nine pounds and six ounces and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are John and Wynona Mitchell of Kansas and Rose Sisk of Arkansas.
