Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Mom's In Touch prayer group meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse on Thursday, May 27, and Thursday, June 24.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind checks. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

The Gospel Soul Searchers from Springhill, La., and the Pastor's Aid Club will render their annual musical program Sunday, June 6, at Shorter Chapel AME Church in Blevins beginning at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Commodities will be issued on June 24 at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott. Your card must be re-evaluated before commodities can be received.

The time is near to be thinking about entering the Nevada County Fair Queen pageant. The ages are two through 21. The date has been moved up this year to September 2 and 4. Entry forms, along with rules and information, will be available June 1.

Union Grove Baptist Church in Blevins will be in revival May 27, 28 and 29 starting at 7:30 each night. Evangelists will be Bro. Chad Brandon on May 27; Bro. Tal Webb on May 28 and Bro. Neal Ridling on May 29. The pastor is Bro. Ricky Burke.

The Chamber of Commerce has free plastic litter bags for your car or truck. These bags are from Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Nevada County. You may pick them up at 116 East Second.

The Laneburg Cemetery Association will meet at Laneburg Baptist Church Monday, June 7, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Decoration Day at Morris Cemetery will be Monday, May 31, from 10:00 till 2:00.

The descendants of Frances America Billingsley and Abner Echols McGuire will hold their family reunion on Sunday, June 6, at the Prescott First Christian Church.

A noon potluck dinner will be served in the fellowship hall of the church, followed by an afternoon of visiting and reminiscing.

All relatives and friends of the McGuire and Billingsley families and all the First Christian Church members are cordially invited.

Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Arkansas has scheduled a public hearing for Wednesday, May 26, in the Prescott Senior Citizens Center located at 304 East Vine beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The area plan for community-based aging services and budget allocations for services for operating year 1999-2000 will be reviewed. The plan covers services funded by the Older Americans Act and related federal and state revenues in 12 southwest Arkansas counties for the period of July 1 through June 30, 2000. Comments and questions from the public are invited.

Russ and Grant Toms are delighted to announce the arrival of their baby sister, Rayli Elese, who was born Thursday, May 20, 1999.

She weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Proud parents are Jimmy Ray and Lisa Toms of Taylor. Maternal grandparents are Don and Nada Cearley of Prescott. Paternal grandparents are Johnny and Cookie Toms of Springhill, La.

The annual Mauldin reunion will be Saturday, May 29, at Gurdon Lake pavillion on Highway 67. There will be a potluck starting at 12 noon. Everyone is invited to come eat and to visit.

The youth of Macedonia Baptist Church, located just off Highway 67 North, will host a youth revival June 2, 3 and 4 beginning at 7:00 nightly. Rev. Quintin Radford from New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gurdon will be the evangelist. All youth groups are invited to attend.

There will be a singing Thursday night at 7:00 at Morris Baptist Church at Caney.]\

After services Sunday there will be a potluck lunch and then singing in the afternoon. Everyone is invited.

The Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce will host a reception for Jessie Ward, who will be competing in the Miss Arkansas pageant June 16-19 at Hot Springs.

Everyone is invited to come and support Jessie as she represents this area. The reception will be held on Friday, June 4, at the chamber office from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The family of Carrie Hamilton Holt will host a birthday party at Pinehope Nursing Home in Hope on May 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., celebrating her 90th birthday. No gifts are requested.

The families of Ronnie and Gail Tucker wish to invite you to a celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary.

Open House will be held at their home on Highway 299 in the Caney Community. It will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday May 30.
