Instead of improving, the cycle two billing for the Prescott Electricity Department shows an ever-increasing number of overdue accounts.

July's billing figures showed a total of 117 accounts past due. This was up from 103 for the same time in June. This particular billing cycle has seen the number of overdue accounts double since March when the count was 54.

For July, though, 20 of the cycle two accounts are 90 or more days late, while another dozen are 60 days overdue. This means there are 85 new accounts late on making payments.

The least amount owed is $31.32, while the most owed is $5,985.18.

This cycle has four accounts owing the city more than $1,000.

In addition, the amount owed for this cycle in July was $37,579.03. The June figures were $32,268.91, for an increase of $5,310.12.

Five accounts for July's cycle two were paid off in full, while none were pulled and no final bills listed.

The amount owed on this billing cycle from past due accounts has also steadily risen since March.

The March amount due was $27,425.83. By May, this had risen to $29,532.57, with the June amount due $32,268.91.

During this period from March to July, the amount owed in late bills has risen more than $10,000, with several of the same accounts 90 or more days late still operational.
