One Injured In Highway 67 AccidentBY RICKY RAGSDALEPublished Wednesday, July 19, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune ACCIDENT INJURES ONE - Trent Penny, 35, was injured when his 1994 Geo Prizm struck the left rear rim of an 18-wheeler cattle trailer on Highway 67, about two miles north of Prescott. According to witnesses at the scene, Penny struck the truck rim on the trailer's side of the road, his vehicle flipped and ended up in a ditch, pinning Penny into the vehicle. Members of the Nevada County Rescue Unit assisted officials in releasing Penny from the car by removing one pedal and removing part of the dash. Penny was knocked into the passenger side of the vehicle. The cattle trailer was owned by Godwin Ranches and driven by 31-year-old Jerry Harris of Prescott. Harris was uninjured. Penny sustained injuries to his head and left leg and hip. He was transported to the helicopter landing site at the former Nevada County Hospital and transported by Air Life to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana.
