Ora Faye Purtle GrantPublished Wednesday, May 26, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneOra Faye Purtle Grant, 80, of Hope, died Monday, May 24, 1999, at her home. Mrs. Grant was born on July 30, 1918, in Nevada County to Owen P. and Minnie Rogers Purtle. She was a retired packer inspector with Meyer's Bakery for 27 years and a charter member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Norman E. Grant, by one son, Justin L. McNatt, and by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Elder Elmer Grant and Elder Kenneth Grant both of Hope and Elder Wayne Grant of Covington, La.; one sister, Bobbie Webb of Hope; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Evans and Rev. Dewayne Parish officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
