Alfred 'Randy' BurnhamBRAZZEL - CORNISH FUNERAL HOME of PRESCOTTPublished Wednesday, July 12, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Alfred Randolph Randy' Burnham, 79, of Little Rock, formerly of Blevins, died Friday, June 30, 2000, in Little Rock. Mr. Burnham was born March 7, 1921, in Blevins to Pleasant Albert Burnham and Lillie Belle Huskey Burnham Thompson. He was retired from the military, U.S. Army; was a physician's assistant at NASA and in Harris County, Texas; and an embalmer and funeral director while in the army. Mr. Burnham was a member of the First Baptist Church in Little Rock. During the Korean War he was assigned to the American Grave Registration Service. He embalmed bodies, directed funerals and worked in funeral homes and the ambulance services. He fought in the battles Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. From the army he received three Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He also prepared many soldiers' bodies for burial and for shipment. He was preceded in death by one son, Toby Alfred Burnham, who died in 1995. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. Crossfield Burnham of Little Rock; one son, Paul Randolph Burnham of Madison, Wisc.; one stepson, Gary C. Woodring of Anderson, Ind.; three daughters, Rebecca Brown and Eloise Fritts of Houston, Texas, and Tammy Rossi Graham of Little Rock; three step-daughters, Debra L. Woodring Burke, Karen F. Woodring Steed, and Rebecca S. Trevillion all of Prescott; three sisters, Nadene Griffin and Rebecca Thompson of Little Rock and Allene Key of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Brown of San Antonio, Texas, Andrew J. Fritts of Houston, Texas, Stephanie Burnham and Merrit Burnham of Madison, Texas, and Ashley Holley of Little Rock; ten step-grandchildren, Amanda C., Jonathan and Timothy Woodring, Aaron D., Amber D., and Adam D. Burke; Cassidy and Chance Steed, and Brady and Brittany Trevillion; one great grandson, Zachary Taylor Brown of San Antonio; and one step-great grandson, Shaun Michael Burke. Funeral services were Monday, July 3, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery near Blevins.
