Hot weather is here!

Congratulations to Russ and Brooke Garner of Malvern. They are the proud parents of a baby girl born Saturday. She weighed seven pounds and has been named Ashland. Huey and Freddie Garner are the paternal grandparents.

We were sorry to hear of the death of Carlee (Elmore) Cranford of Malvern. Carlee grew up in our community. She is survived by one sister, Alta O'Rourke. Her funeral was Friday at an Assembly of God Church near Malvern. We extend our sympathy to her loved ones.

Tommy and Helen Elmore and their grandson and a friend spent last Friday and Saturday with his mother, Elsie Elmore. They had supper Saturday night with Cathryn and Pete Jester and Jimmy Joe.

Lonnie and Leon Moore of Michigan spent a few days with her parents, Lenord and Faye House. Sammy and Kaye House, Jason and Lauren spent the 4th of July with them.

The family of Orlie and Allie Shaver had a family reunion at the middle school in Prescott recently. Approximately 60 or more attended.

Mike and Connie Garner of North Little Rock spent the 4th of July weekend with Huey and Freddie Garner.

We are so sorry to hear Mrs. Dolly Stovall fell and broke her hip Wednesday. She is in St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Garner and children of Wynn spent last weekend with his parents, Shorty and Dorothy Garner.

Paul and Robbin Ridgell, Mike and Ben Ridgell and Holly Egger enjoyed a day at Magic Springs in Hot Springs last week.

Some of Herbie Ridgell visitors over the weekend were Kay Wren, Margo Green, Robin, Elizabeth, Alex and Josh Ridgell.

Launer West and a friend of Hope visited Syble Brown one afternoon last week.

Boughton Church was well attended Sunday with 65 present. Several had picnic lunch and five were baptized at Cold Run creek after the picnic.
