Fair Hill Newsby BARBARA CORNELIUSPublished Wednesday, July 12, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Last week's news: I apologize for not having the news last week. I was on a trip and didn't get back until Saturday. Annie Lee Cornelius was admitted to Hillcrest last Tuesday for rehab. Remember her in your prayers. Aaron Morton and I went on a church trip with Morris Baptist TNT. We left last Thursday and returned home on Saturday. We had a wonderful time touring the town of Eureka Springs. Thursday night we all went to a jamboree singing. I think Bro. Tal Webb enjoyed J.R. the comedian the most. Friday night was the big event, as we went to the Passion Play. We got a little wet, but it did not bother the country folks. We hung in there. Saturday morning we had to pick up and get ready for the long journey back home. Glenn, Marilyn and Stephanie Langley from Baton Rouge, La., and Tommy and Wanda Fontaine from Ft. Worth, Texas, visited with Thomas and Ruby Fontaine this past weekend. Henry Stuart visited Friday with Annie Lee Cornelius and several others who are at Hillcrest. Al Formby and Tony and Kim Overton spent Saturday at Suckles Lake fishing and visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Overton from Amity and Jeremy, Tiffany, J.J. and Jeremy Skaggs from Little Rock. This week's news: I don't know about all of you but a little rain sure would look good on my garden and on my head. J.W. and Maxine Glass had their annual 4th of July ice cream supper. There were about 80 folks there. Some came as far away as Texarkana and Magnolia. There were buckets of ice cream all over one picnic table. That's not all; there was also a table full of cakes, pies and cookies. Everyone had a wonderful time visiting, throwing horse shoes and enjoying the fireworks. We're all looking forward to next year. John L. and Lenora McWilliams took a trip several weeks with the Trailblazers of Prescott. They went to North Dakota along with 44 others. Tracy and Abby Morrow went to the 4th of July supper at J.W. and Maxine Glass' last Tuesday. David and Patricia Kirkham, Ruth Thompson and Jimmy and Julia Taylor from Lonoke went to Minnesota several weeks ago to visit with Patricia's brother. Ricky, Angela, Elizabeth, Blake and Timothy Hopkins went to Sherman, Texas, to help celebrate Mamie McKinney's 90th birthday. Brad and Connie Peters went to the lake this weekend for an outing with friends. Katie Beth McWilliams from Summerville, Tenn., has visited with her grandparents, John L. and Lenora McWilliams. Bethany McWilliams from Springdale has also visited them. John and Stephen McWilliams and friend Ryan Fitzgerald all of Springdale are spending time at the cabin studying and doing some fishing. Ruby Fontaine hasn't been feeling well. Hope you get to feeling better real soon. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
