BAC II Construction Did Work Properly

Work done by BAC II Construction at McRae Middle School was done properly, according to Prescott Superintendent Ron Wright.

BAC II Construction was hired to do some fascia work at the middle school in May to help seal leaks in the roof

Tami Carter, with BAC II, said the company suggested replacing all the wood and metal around the fascia at MMS, but this isn't what the district wanted. She said the Prescott School Board was given inaccurate information at the June meeting as the company didn't do as much at McRae as was implied.

What the company wound up doing was replacing about 34 feet of rotted fascia on the roof.

Carter said the work was completed quickly as the crews work after school to get the job done.

The bill for the job was $400.

Carter said Wright was told the problem would get worse if nothing was done, and the company couldn't guarantee the wood it didn't replace.

Wright, she said, asked them to do the bare minimum to save the district money.

"A lot needs to be done at McRae," Carter said, "but Wright said he needs to be wise with the money as it belongs to the people."

To eliminate the problem completely, the job needs to be done right, she said. BAC II did nothing to the soffett, nor did the company do any painting.

"We could have repaired the roofing problems at McRae for $7,000," Carter said.

Wright said he tried to give BAC II credit for the work done at the June meeting of the school board. "They did a good job for a reasonable price and we would use them again."
