Everyone is welcome. Bro. Leodis Lyons is the sponsor, as well as Sis. Bonnie Dixon. Rev. Daniel Flemons is pastor. Annual homecoming to be held Sunday, July 16, at 2:30 p.m. at Providence A.M.E. Church in the Kansas community. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Special guest will be Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of Gurdon. Rev. Johnny C. Harris, pastor and speaker. Rev. Flostene Quarles is pastor. Early morning worship services at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gurdon will be Sunday, July 16, at 8:00 a.m. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor. Annual homecoming and 109th church anniversary and homecoming at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Beirne will be held Sunday, July 23. Rev. Vernon Moody, assistant pastor of Gennesaret Baptist Church in Arkadelphia will bring the morning message at 11:00. Lunch will be from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., after which the evening service will begin with Sis. Maude Echols, worship leader. Special guests will be Munn's Chapel Baptist Church of Prescott. Rev. Saturday, July 22, there will be a picnic at Gurdon City Park. Everyone and all family members welcome. On July 3 the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Willie and Flora Pennington Blake visited relatives, Earl and Sharon Blake, Beatrice Newson of Arkadelphia, and other relatives in surrounding areas. They celebrated at DeGray Lake. Family members came from as far away as Tucson and Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., and Dallas, Texas. A fireworks show was held on the Fourth of July holiday on the family estate in Curtis.
