Dedication Planned At Trinity Methodist

Published Wednesday, July 12, 2000 in the Gurdon Times

Trinity United Methodist Church, located on Highway 51 near the junction of Highway 53 Northwest of Gurdon, will have dedication services for their new chapel and educational building Sunday, July 9.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with visitation. The worship and dedication service will start at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jack A. Wilson, the Arkadelphia District superintendent of the United Methodist Church, delivering the message and leading the dedication.

Randall Mathis will lead the singing. Elizabeth Schenke will be the pianist.

The new facilities replace the 105-year-old sanctuary and classrooms that were irreparably damaged when straight-line winds blew a huge pine tree onto the sanctuary.

It is through the generous giving of the many friends of Trinity that the new buildings are complete and ready to be used in service for the Lord.

Rev. James O. Lybrand is the pastor of the Okolona charge, which includes Okolona, Center Grove and Trinity United Methodist Churches.

The congregation extends a warm welcome for everyone.

Potluck luncheon will follow the services.
