There will be a Decipher Cemetery meeting Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Springs Church on Red Springs Road.

Nathan and Toni Crews of Okolona are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Katie Aberdeen, born Thursday, July 7, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

Katie weighed nine pounds and three ounces and was 19> inches long. She has two brothers, Sebastian of Okolona and Jay of Camden.

Grandparents are Barbara and Dwayne Orgeron of Shreveport; and Mike and Sandy Lehman and Carolyn and Jerry Crews of Camden.

Allan and Brittney Matthews are proud to announce the birth of their son, Joshua Cade, born Wednesday, July 5, 2000.

At 10 pounds and three ounces, Joshua is the grandson of Tommy and Vivian Overby of Gurdon and Melvin and Joyce Matthews of Bismarck. He is great grandson of Howard and Kathleen Bachlor of Gurdon, Ida Pearl Gills of Gurdon and Velma Hathcock of Bismarck.

Sunday, July 16, Red Springs Baptist Church will hold homecoming services with Sunday school at 10:00 a.m.; worship services at 11:00 a.m.; potluck lunch at 12:00 noon, with singing following in the afternoon.

The morning message will be brought by Rev. Calvin Nutt. Everyone is invited to join them.

First Assembly of God Sunday school will sponsor an ice cream stand on Thomason's Big Star's parking lot Saturday, July 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Homemade ice cream cones will sell for 25". The ice cream stand is a promotion effort for the upcoming weekend family crusade.

Debbie with her Dummies!,' featuring Debra Thompson of Newport, will be at First Assembly July 28-30. For more information phone 353-2804. Everyone welcome.

The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
