RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, May 26, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune I really think people are running from me when they see me coming, 'cause they know I'm after news. Most of our community was attending the revival at Shady Grove last week, so I guess that's a good reason for no news. We were sad to hear that Ida Bryson Eaves passed away in a Texarkana hospital. Several from this community attended the funeral Monday. Danny, Lisa and Kyle Pennington met Danny's brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jerrie Lynne Pennington, from Sparkman for a dinner in Hot Springs on Saturday night. Louie McKissack and Nina Brewer from Little Rock visited Neil and me on Sunday and also attended church with us. Mary Cox and daughter, Ann Wylie, from Hope made a business trip to Camden on Thursday. Don and Amanda Gray from Benton and Neil made a trip to Longview, Texas, on Saturday to visit their brother, Doyle Meeks, who is seriously ill in a hospital there. My thought: "A face without a smile is like a check without a signature." Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
