Redland NewsBY HAZEL MEEKSPublished Wednesday, July 5, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Due to a death in our family, I failed to get the news in last week. Neil's sister, Jerri Davis, of Stephens passed away at the Heart Hospital in Little Rock on Friday week before last. The funeral was Monday, June 26, in Stephens. She was survived by one son, J.L. Dunn of Magnolia; two daughters, Sharon Leachman of Louisiana and Janet Grace of Stephens; two brothers, Dwight Meeks of Camden and Neil Meeks of Prescott; and one sister, Amanda Gray of Bryant. We say a special thanks to those from our church and community who attended. Those going to the funeral included our pastor Bro. Mike Taylor, George and Joy Cox, Willie and Julene Hulan, Leona Ballard, Charles and Viola Kuhn from Gurdon; and Randy and Charity Lowdermilk. LaNell Nash recently visited her two daughters in Murfreesboro. Randy, Charity and Caleb Lowdermilk have returned from Chattanooga, Tenn., where they attended the wedding of Sammy Lowdermilk and his bride Dana. Our great grandson was ring bearer. Ronnie and Barbara Lowdermilk also attended. Randy, Charity and Caleb also visited Lookout Mountain, Rock City and Ruby Falls. Boughton Baptist Church is really making progress on their fellowship hall. Besides workers from the community, they have help coming from Ft. Worth, Texas. Paul and Linda Ghormley spent last weekend in Tulsa, Okla., celebrating their son Joe's birthday. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
