Strickland, Harwell Wed In Carolinas

Leslie Strickland of Ridge Spring, S.C., and Ben Harwell of Star, N.C., were married June 10 Ridge Spring Baptist Church. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The Rev. Dean Hill officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Strickland of Ridge Spring. She is a granddaughter of Frances Collum of Ridge Spring and the late Crayton Collum and Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Strickland of Aiken, S.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Harwell of near Willisville. He is the grandson of the late Robert and Mildred Purifoy of Rosston and Martha Harwell and the late Jay Harwell of Gurdon.

Tara Sanders of Aiken, S.C., sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Storey of Ward, Summer Miller of Monetta, Haley Thompson of Aiken, Deanna Whitt of Belton, and Rachel Wilkie and Tara Taylor, both of Gaffney, all in South Carolina. Lorie Miller of Monetta was the junior bridesmaid.

Corbin Yon of Ridge Spring was the ring bearer and Whitney Miller of Monetta was the flower girl.

Wayne McClure of the Willisville area, nephew of the bridegroom, was the best man.

Groomsmen were Kevin Yon of Ridge Spring, Cliff Strickland of Batesburg, S.C., brother of the bride, Trey Strickland of Ridge Spring, brother of the bride, Chris Rodgers of Batesburg, and Phil Yon and O.T. Price, both of Ridge Spring.

Following a reception in the gardens at the home of Phil and Barbara Yon in Ridge Spring, the couple left for a wedding trip to Forrest Hills Resort in Dahlonega, Ga.

They will reside in Star, N.C.

Out of town guests were Ben's parents, Matt and Pat Harwell, Randy McClure and Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Casey of Willisville and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Callicott of Prescott.
