Irene WickerHERNDON FUNERAL HOME of HOPEPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Irene Wicker, 87, of Emmet died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Dubuis Hospital for Continuing Care in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Wicker was born March 1, 1913, to Luther and Lula Mitchell Smith in Union County. She was Pentecostal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Wicker; a son, Edward Wicker; two daughters; another son; and six granddaughters. Survivors include three sons, Gilbert Thomas Wicker of Hope; Bobby Dale Wicker of Texarkana and Terry Dale Wicker of Hope; five daughters, Edna M. Tunnell of Emmet, Martha F. Parmer of Prescott, Betty S. McKamie of Hope, Sherry G. Zumwalt of Lawton, Okla., and Sharon K. Dycus of Glenwood; 37 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 21, in Herndon Chapel in Hope with Pastor Orville Farren officiating.
