Rosston NewsBY MARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune The youth of Rosston Church and most of their parents report a good time at Magic Springs in Hot Springs Saturday. Guests in church Sunday were Bro. Hershel and Nadine (Dillard) Wortman of Houston. They are spending some time at their vacation home here in Rosston. Other guests were Jennifer Bailey and Greg Brady of Nacogdoches, Texas, and some friends of Jennifer Gresham and a cousin of Petie. Jennifer Bailey brought the special music in song. She and Greg will be getting married July 8 at Whites Chapel. Roscoe and I would like to thank everyone who have been to visit, brought food and all the telephone calls while he has been down with a sprained ankle these past two weeks. We went to the doctor Monday. He went to church Sunday and did pretty good. Floy and Herman Waters will return to Dallas tomorrow. Herman is to get some more treatments. Kerri Rousso's husband, Alan, has had problems with his back this week. He had to be taken to St. Michael emergency room one night. He went to St. Michael Monday for an MRI. Bill freeman has also been having back problems for several weeks. He finally got an MRI and bone scan in Texarkana this week. He went to an orthopedic doctor in Little Rock Monday. Maxine Luck fell and broke a bone in her ankle last week. She went to a Little Rock doctor on Friday and got it in a cast. I cooked supper for them Sunday night and we ate with them after church. Please pray that all these people will soon be better. We missed getting to see our new great grandson, Joe Donald Rocole, while we were at the Luck house. Granddaughter Tori got her stitches out on Friday. She, Kathryn, baby Joe and Booie came by. Guests of Dail and Marjorie Evans for the next few days will be Dail's brother, Buddy, and his wife Mary Evans of Houston, Texas; Junior Evans of San Antonio; and his sister, Jean Coburn, of Pine Bluff. Guest of Ila Carpenter this weekend was her daughter, Alice, of West Monroe, La. The ladies of Willisville Church of Christ hosted a pink and blue shower for Tammy (Gibson) Bryant of Bodcaw at the Community Center this afternoon. She received many lovely gifts. Revival Services will be at Corinth Church this week with Bro. Neil Ridling as evangelist. He is from New Hope Church near Hope. Bro. Rocky Goodwin will be the evangelist at Bodcaw Church this week. Bro. Ray Bowman is pastor. If you can't attend please pray for them. Bro. Hershel and Nadine Wortman visited with us a while this afternoon. They brought us some good watermelon and home grown tomatoes. Ross McKissack went to Heather Manor South Nursing Home in Hope this week. Go by to visit with him or send him a card.
