Ward To Compete In Miss Texas Pageant

Jessie Ward, Miss Texarkana 2000, will be competing for the crown of Miss Texas the week of July 1-8.

The pageant preliminary competition will begin with Ward competing Wednesday night in evening gown, Thursday night in swim suit and Friday night in talent.

Saturday, July 8, will be the final night of competition, which will be televised on Channel 6 at 8 p.m. and on satellite channel 216 PN-Ft. Worth, from Will Rogers Memorial Complex.

The winner of Miss Texas will go on to compete for the title of Miss America in October.

Ward is the 20-year-old daughter of Ned and Karen Ward of Prescott. She is a junior pre-med major at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
