Pye Family Reunion ScheduledPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneA Pye family reunion will be held for all descendants and friends of Edward Franklin Pye (father), born September 1858 and married in Nevada County near Prescott (Boughton Township) on December 25, 1880, to Mary Elizabeth (Heald) Pye, born March 14,1860. Edward Franklin (known as Ned), a farmer, and Mary Elizabeth Heald Pye were married by Jasser Price, a Baptist minister, at the home of Henry Miers. Ned Pye's family lived around Prescott. He had a brother, William Cade Pye, who also resided here. Both of these men are recorded in the 1900 Arkansas census. Both were buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. All who are interested are invited to the Pye reunion June 30, July 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds building. On Saturday a program, talent show and a noon potluck will be held. Sunday there will be a noon potluck and Monday and Tuesday nights will also include a potluck meal. Prescott families who are descendants of Mattie Pye Brown, daughter of E.F. and Mary Pye, are: Clyda Brown McKinnon, Naomi Brown Harris, Marie Brown Wilson, Wayne Brown, Joyce Brown Collins and Wendell Brown, all deceased and also two sisters in California, Lula Beth Butler and Louise Dye Sheeier. Also at Blevins lived Horace Pye, who married Rhea Nolen Pye. Many plans are made for a fun-filled reunion with gag gifts and all. You are invited to join the fun.
