Events Set For Munn's Chapel Reunion

Munn's Chapel Baptist Church will host a church family reunion Saturday, July 2, at 6 p.m.

The service will feature the McRae School reunion choir and a Munn's Chapel reunion choir. The Munn's Chapel reunion choir will be under the direction of several musicians, including John A. Colbert and Professor Charles Miller, both of Omaha, Neb., and Mattie Tidwell and Yvonne Thomas, both of Prescott.

Members, former members and friends of Munn's Chapel are asked to participate in the choir.

The message will be brought by Rev. Jerome Kirby, pastor of New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich. Rev. Kirby is the son of the late John and Geneva Hunter Kirby. As a child he spent many summers in Prescott with his aunts, Estelle Minor and Odessa Hunter Simmons Jones, both of whom worked in the local school system.

Rev. Kirby graduated from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. He went on to pastor at Greenwood, La., and later at St. James Baptist Church at Gary, Ind. He is a dynamic national evangelist, a news release stated.

The service will also climax a special effort in that members and former members may purchase gold pew markers in memory or honor of loved ones.
