Deadline Is Moved Up For Holiday

The Nevada County Picayune will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

With the closing all deadlines have been moved up to noon, Friday, June 30. This includes the news from the various correspondents throughout the county.

Because of the holiday, the newspapers will have to be printed early Monday morning, July 3. All papers will be on news stands Monday morning.

The Picayune will reopen for business Wednesday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

In addition the Nevada County Courthouse will be closed Tuesday, July 4, as will the Nevada County Landfill.

Nevada County Judge James Roy Brown said the garbage routes for the holiday will see Monday's trash picked up Monday and all other routes being run a day late.
