Alice Margaruite SturdivantATKINSON FUNERAL HOME of MALVERNPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the Gurdon Times Alice Margaruite Sturdivant, 85, of Malvern passed away Friday, June 23, 2000, at the Hot Spring County Medical Center. Mrs. Sturdivant was born October 5, 1914, at Paragould to the late Oscar Harrison and Lillie Frances Hathcock Smith. She was manager for the Trailways Bus Co., at Malvern and a member of Sharon Rose Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Smith, a son, W.E. Sturdivant, and a grandson, Gary Sturdivant. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles Eugene Sturdivant of Malvern; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Sturdivant Barker of Gurdon; granddaughter, Teresa Simons of Yukon, Okla.; three great grandchildren, Phillip Thomason of Gurdon, Chris Thomason of Hot Springs and Gina Thomason of Yukon, Okla.; and three great great grandchildren, all of Gurdon. Funeral services were held Monday, June 26, at Sharon Rose Baptist Church with Bro. Don Clark officiating. Burial was in South Fork Cemetery near Gurdon under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern.
