ATV Accident Claims Life Of Cale ManBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, May 26, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune A 20-year-old Cale man was killed Sunday when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding flipped over on him. According to Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell, Everett Lee Martin and some friends were riding their ATVs in the Boughton area Sunday, May 23. Martin had a passenger on the back of the new four-wheeler he had recently purchased and reportedly attempted to climb a steep embankment. However, the ATV flipped, with the passenger able to jump to safety, while the machine landed on Martin. Crews with the Nevada County Ambulance Service transported Martin to Medical Park Hospital in Hope, where he was pronounced dead.
