Slayton, South To Wed SaturdayPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesDr. and Mrs. Joel C. Slayton of Greenbrier announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Amy Renee' Slayton, to Benjamin Kyle South of Conway, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas J. South of Cabot. Miss Slayton is a granddaughter of Mrs. Howard Kelly of North Little Rock and the late James Howard Kelly and Doris Kissinger of Conway and the late Joe Slayton of Gurdon. The bride-elect is a 1994 graduate of Conway High School, a 1996 graduate of Central Baptist College and a 1998 graduate of Baptist Health Schools of Practical Nursing. She was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students and Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities. Miss Slayton is a nurse at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in North Little Rock. Mr. South is a grandson of Kenneth and Marie Brown of Conway, Alvin and Hazel Hoyle of Russellville and the late J.C. South of Springhill near Conway. The prospective groom is a 1995 honor graduate of Cabot High Schools and a 2000 honor graduate of Central Baptist College. He is a member of Alpha Chi honor society, was listed in Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities and was on the national dean's list. Mr. South was named Mr. CBC and was a Stephens Scholar. Mr. South is resident director-activities director at Central Baptist College.
