Rosston NewsBY MARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, June 21, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Among visitors in church Sunday were the Luck's daughters, Darla, and Gail and her husband Danny. After church they went out to eat for Father's Day. We celebrated Father's Day Saturday night with a fish supper. Our sons gave Roscoe an electric ice chest, which will surely come in handy on fishing trips. The fish supper at the church was a great success. They sold over $500 worth of plates. This was for trips for the youth. They appreciate everything that was done for them. The youth department also put lots of hard work into it. Please pray for Herman Waters as he has another round of chemotherapy to take. Our granddaughter, Tori Rocole, of Magnolia had a c-section on Friday in an El Dorado hospital. She and husband, Teddy, and big sister, Kathryn, now have a beautiful baby boy. They named him Joe Donald and he weighed in at seven pounds and five ounces and was 20 inches long. All the grandmas, grandpas and Roscoe and I and Maxine Freeman, who are great grandparents, were on hand for the big occasion and also several friends and two aunts. She was supposed to go home Monday. Tara Carlton was not in church Sunday. She has been running a fever for several days and may have to go for tests. Please remember her. Roscoe had an accident last Monday and has been laid up' all week. He stepped off a ladder onto a slab of concrete that our front steps sets on and badly sprained his left ankle. He had it x-rayed and they said there was no broken bones, but it is still swollen pretty badly. I took him back to the doctor Monday. Paul and Dot Broussard spent the last few days in Louisiana with his relatives. Margaret Jackson is doing fine after cataract surgery. Joey Wallace's dad is having tests run, so please remember him. The report is that Tommie Lew Jarvis is improving and anxious to come home. Maybe it won't be much longer. Jim, Mona and Sue Dixon had a big fish cookout at Sue's house on Friday night. They had 12 to eat fish and celebrate Father's Day. We had two telephone calls Saturday. Roscoe's Uncle Felts Chamberlain of El Dorado and a cousin, Martha Lee Chamberlain Johnson, of Arlington, Texas, called. We had a good visit with each one of them. Martha Lee has lots of health problems and not able to travel from there to their lake home on Suckles Lake to be with family on the 4th of July.
