Theodore J. 'Ted' StiversHAMPTON VAUGHAN CRESTVIEW FUNERAL HOMEPublished Wednesday, June 21, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Theodore J. Ted' Stivers, 71, of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Stivers was born February 21, 1929, in Prescott to Oscar and Grace Niemeyer Stivers. He married Barbara Hoare March 19, 1948, in Santa Ana, Calif. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served from 1946 to 1948. He was a fabrication specialist in the aircraft division for Rockwell International until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Stivers has lived in Burkburnett eight years, moving from Downey, Calif. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, the Gideons, the American Legion and the Senior Citizens of Burkburnett. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Bob Stivers of Burkburnett and Gary Stivers of Garden Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Sandra Tessier of Bellflower, Calif., and Sharon Worded of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one brother, Jody Stivers of Prescott; five sisters, Mary McCollough of Lufkin, Texas, Opal Wooley of Livingston, Texas, Judy Parnell of Pensacola, Fla., Bettie Niemyer and Dorothy Niemyer both of Cave City; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 17, in the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita Falls, Texas, with Rev. Scott Van Bibber, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.
