House To Attend HOBY Congress

Johnathan House has been selected to attend the HOBY World Leadership Congress 2000 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., July 21-29.

House, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack House of Willisville, was selected for this honor while representing Nevada High School at the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) seminar in Little Rock in May.

The theme of Congress 2000 is Leadership, Service and Technology in the 21st Century.'

Approximately 275 youth ambassadors and staff members will participate in the eight-day experience, which will include presentations from experts in the fields of medicine, politics, journalism, diplomacy, etc. Special presentations will be vice president Al Gore speaking on How Technology Impacts Policy Decisions' and Attorney General Janet Reno debating on Who Should Control the Internet?'

While in Washington the group will tour the Lincoln, Korean and Vietnam Memorials, Air and Space Museum, National Academy of Science, Ford Theatre, the nation's Capitol, White House and other places of interest.
