A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse June 22.

Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213.

White's Chapel Baptist Church will have its revival June 12-16 with services starting at 7:30 each night. Bro. Jerry Evans will be the evangelist. White's Chapel is located between Bodcaw and Willisville on County Road 7.

S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. You can volunteer your services to help brighten the life of a child in your community.

Parks family reunion will be held Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at the Fair Park Community Center in Hope.

Commodities will be issued in Nevada County at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott beginning Thursday, June 15. All commodity cards must be renewed. Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone.

Diabetic Education of Prescott will be having its next meeting Wednesday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at the office of Nevada County Cooperative Extension Service, 532 West First Street South, Prescott.

Mary Alice Blevins, R.N., will be the speaker on Blood Glucose Monitoring and Use of Results'.

The meeting will be sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension.

Vacation Bible school at Emmet Baptist Church continues through June 15, 6:30 to 8:30 each evening.

Closing assembly will be Friday night at 6:30, prior to the Brashears in concert, which begins at 7 p.m.

The Nevada School District board will meet Thurs., June 15, at 7 p.m.

The agenda includes audience with individuals or groups, new business and announcements.

Homecoming will be held Father's Day Sunday, June 18, at Harmony Methodist Church at Sutton, located on Highway 73.

Rev. Jerry Westmoreland, pastor of the Church, will be in charge of the morning services beginning at 11 a.m.

Veloria Bright Haltom will direct singing beginning at 1:30 p.m. Special performers include Mark Keith and the Hempstead County Melody Boys, Deanna Ward and The Good Life Singers, all of Hope. Everyone is welcome.

Nevada County Republicans will meet Monday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at the courthouse.

Descendants of William C. and Lula McBride Wicker will have a family reunion Saturday, June 17, at the Senior Citizens Center in Hope.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the potluck meal at noon or to drop by and visit anytime during the day.

There will be a men's softball tournament June 23 and 24 at Northside Park in Hope. Deadline to enter the tourney is June 21 at 5 p.m.

Bluff Springs Baptist Church at Rosston will have its revival June 19-23 at 7:30 nightly. The evangelist will be Jay Pollen on Monday; Billy Mac Russell, Tuesday; Tal Webb, Wednesday; I.V. Hight, Thursday; and Wayne Langston on Friday.
