Elk Horn Bank Wins Award

Elk Horn Bank received an award from the Small Business Administration (SBA) recently.

Accepted at the SBA awards luncheon Elk Horn Bank was awarded the SBA New Market Lending Award for Rural Development.

Elk Horn Bank and Trust is the oldest component of Southern Development Bancorporation, a regional development bank holding company located in Arkadelphia, which also serves 42 counties of the Delta region in Arkansas.

In 1999 SBA approved 20 loan guaranties for Elk Horn, of which seven were for women and five were for African-Americans; most were rural.

Elk Horn and other components of Southern Development have contributed to the creation of three enterprise centers, 72 low-income housing units, 50 senior citizen housing units and the creation and retention of almost 3,000 jobs in the Delta region.
