We played bingo Monday of last week and had someone to speak on legal services for the seniors. Bro. Shults sang for us. National Park Medical gave screenings for blood sugar and blood pressure.

This week will be busy, because USDA commodity food will be issued at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center, 410 East Main Street, beginning on June 13 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. Commodities are available for persons meeting the guidelines.

The week of June 12-16 we will be playing bingo on Monday. Tuesday the Musicmakers' will sing at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center in Arkadelphia. On Wednesday Lloyd Baumgardner will sing for us. Friday square dancing will be offered.

Last Thursday some of the staff had to go to a meeting. Some of the ladies went along to shop.

Last Friday a few of the senior ladies visited the Fly Wheel Pie Shop in Prescott and purchased pies.

There are several activities scheduled for the rest of June.

On June 22 Matt Mosler, meteorologist from Little Rock, will be at the center.

We want to thank our volunteers for the time and effort they donate to the center. We appreciate Bro. Shults and Lloyd Baumgardner for singing for us. Thanks go to Watson and Ann Smith for volunteering to clean the trays. If you would like to participate we can find a place for you.

The center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
