Cabe Library Sets Summer ProgramsPublished Wednesday, June 14, 2000 in the Gurdon TimesSpecial summer programs will be offered to children at Cabe Library beginning today (Wednesday). On June 14 at 3:00 p.m., the ever-popular N.E.S.A. science program will begin for ages seven and up. Beginning June 20 there will be a story hour at 10:00 a.m. for ages 3-6, and at 2:00 p.m. there will be the Time to Celebrate Class.' This is for the kids who have signed up for the summer reading program. Children (or their parents) will need to pre-register each Tuesday for the following week's class (class size will be limited). In this class there will be games, crafts, activities and lots of fun. All of these programs will be approximately an hour and will last for six weeks. Along with the Arkansas State Library, Cabe Public Library will sponsor the independent summer reading program. The theme this year is Time to Read! Time to Celebrate!' Registration will continue through June 16 at the library. Once you are registered, if you read at least one book a week, you are eligible for a weekly prize. If you read at least six books or attend three Time to Celebrate Classes' you will be eligible for the grand prize to be given away July 25 during the closing ceremony.
