Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse June 22. Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213. White's Chapel Baptist Church will have its revival June 12-16 with services starting at 7:30 each night. Bro. Jerry Evans will be the evangelist. White's Chapel is located between Bodcaw and Willisville on County Road 7. S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. Friendship United Methodist Church will celebrate its 119th homecoming Sunday, June 11. The church is located on Highway 371 between Blevins and McCaskill. Singing will resume at 1 p.m. and the Friendship Cemetery report will be given at 1:30. Everyone is invited. The class of 1945 will hold its 55th reunion on June 10 at the Prescott Country Club. Friends are invited. Visitation starts at 3:30 p.m. Parks family reunion will be held Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at the Fair Park Community Center in Hope. The annual Weir Cemetery Association will meet Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. at the cemetery near Okolona for the business meeting. A potluck lunch will follow. Commodities will be issued in Nevada County at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott beginning Thursday, June 15. All commodity cards must be renewed. Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone. Diabetic Education of Prescott will be having its next meeting Wednesday, June 14, at 2 p.m. at the office of Nevada County Cooperative Extension Service, 532 West First Street South, Prescott. Mary Alice Blevins, R.N., will be the speaker on Blood Glucose Monitoring and Use of Results'. The meeting will be sponsored by AllCare Pharmacy and Nevada County Cooperative Extension. Emmet Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible school June 12-15 from 6:30 to 8:30 each evening. For more information call 887-2233. Beginning July 1 the Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluff City will begin charging $100 per cemetery plot. If you have questions call 887-2979. The annual John and Rebbeca McSweeny family reunion will be Saturday, June 10, in Emmet at the former Chuck Wagon Cafe. There will be a potluck lunch for all family members and friends.
