Pettus, Bell To Wed July 1 In Hot Springs

Deaidra DeAnn Pettus and Dishawn Montra Bell announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gail Pettus of Okolona, formerly of Palo Alto, Calif., and the late Jack Pettus of Okolona.

She is the granddaughter of the late Otis and Maxine Pettus of Okolona, Willa Heald of Palo Alto, Calif., and the late Les Heald.

She is a 1993 graduate of Palo Alto High School. She is currently attending Arkadelphia Beauty College, where she will be a summer graduate.

The prospective groom is the son of Annie M. Buford of Gurdon, formerly of Burtsell, and Sammy Bell of Prescott.

He is the grandson of Pauline Buford of Burtsell and the late Bruce Buford, Uthel Bell of Gurdon and the late Betsy Mae Bell.

He is a 1995 graduate of Gurdon High School. He is currently attending Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

The wedding will take place the July 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the garden of Hot Springs Wedding Chapel. A reception will follow at the Clarion Resort.

The officiating minister will be Rev. Kendall Jones of Kansas City, Kan.

The bride's escorts will be Floyd Wiley of Glenwood, Ill., and Billy Joe Payne of East Palo Alto, Calif.

Her maid of honor will be Myisia Brooks of Sonnyvale, Calif.

Her bridesmaids will be Carolyn Payne of East Palo Alto; Martha Williams of Dallas, Texas; Leona Smith of Malvern; and Tamiko Williams of Prescott.

The junior bridesmaid will be Jaleh Holland of Sonnyvale; the flower girl will be Ta'Nell Barton of Okolona; and the ring bearer will be Maurico Williams of Gurdon.

Serving as best man will be Wesley Buford of Gurdon.

Groomsmen will be Sammy Bell Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; Tony Lomack of Malvern; David Young of Gurdon and Jeff Blake of Okolona.

His junior groomsman will be Rafael Buford of Gurdon.

Candle lighters for the couple will be Jamar Horton of Okolona and Breana Buford of Gurdon.

The newlyweds will honeymoon for five days in Cancun, Mexico. They will reside in Okolona.
