Guy Chism, 82, of Hope died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Mr. Chism was born December 3, 1917, in Belton to Lindzy and Lillie Mae Flowers Chism. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Hope and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ola Mae Smyth Chism of Hope; two sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Chism and Pam of Prescott and Don Easterling of Monticello; three daughters, Betty Ashmore and Janice Milburn both of Hope and Pat McBride of Perrytown; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Easterling of Texarkana; one sister, Nannie Mae Stuart of Laneburg; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 25, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Scott Neathery officiating. Burial was in Merrill Cemetery in Belton under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
