Number Of City's Past Due Accounts In Cycle 3 Grows

April's third cycle billing for Prescott Power and Light showed an increase in the number of overdue accounts.

However, there was a reduction in the amount owed, by some $2,000.

According to information provided by the City of Prescott, there were 96 past due accounts in April for the third cycle. In March this number was 85.

Of April's 95 overdue accounts, 15 were 60 days late and 18 90 or more days past due. One account was pulled.

Comparatively, there were eight accounts in March 60 days late and 25 90 or more.

Some 31 accounts were paid in full from March to April.

The third cycle billing in April showed eight accounts with more than $1,000 past due, including the two hospital accounts.

The billing record for the defunct Nevada County Hospital showed $90,000 was owed on one meter, with $59,643.40 owed on the other, for a total of $149,643.40.

In addition, there were 43 new accounts past due for April's third cycle when compared to the March list.

Six of the overdue accounts in April could be identified as past due commercial accounts. On the residential side, 53 accounts were identified as being late.

The information provided by the city shows one commercial account to be more than 90 days late and owe $3,988.10, with this figure up from $3,182.29 in March.

A residential account, also more than 90 days past due, is $1,404.67 in April, while the March amount owed was $1,071.44. The figures show this to still be an active account.

Another residential account with $1,646.18 owed in April, up from $1,562.38 in March, also remains active though the bill is more than 90 days late.

A third such account had $831.23 owed in March, when it was more than 90 days late, but rose to $1,024.05 in April.

Another residential account, where $1,290.88, was owed in April, rose only slightly from the March amount of $1,258.86.

The figures on a commercial account with $2,846.09 owed in March dropped to $1,246.78 in April.

The 31 bills being paid off in April from the March account list totaled $8,592.43.
