GHS Senior Look Forward 25 Years . . .

Class of 2000's 25 Year Reunion

Well, today is the day. I can't believe it's been twenty-five years already.

The reunion is just hours away. Before I leave, I sit down to read the

newspaper's gossip column run by Jennifer Kuhn, Nicole McMichael,

and Michelle Webb.

I'm surprised to find the latest news, that Jessica Guthrie is finally marrying a local rock star who has now sold 200 copies of his CD.

In an interview with Kristian Mauldin, quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

Brandi Escalante has been residing in a state mental institution since she lost it her last year of medical school.

Suspiciously, Adam Gooding works as an RN on her floor. Mary Lee, Brandi's roommate, was placed there after panicking from her near death experience back in 2012 when she was trapped in her trailer with her 12 children when 12 tornadoes ripped through the state.

Whitney Hogue visits her friends there once a week when she attends her anger management classes.

Giving up on the paper, I flip on the television set to channel surf. I find that Lewis Crain and Justin Gonzales have replaced TK and Mike, Cindy Davis stars as Cindy Brady on a reunion show, Martin Downey is the leader of the World Wrestling Federation, and Hannah Marion has become the host of Forgive or Forget after numerous appearances.

On Entertainment Tonight, I find out Shealan O'Rear has now been crowned Miss Universe, Kristen Mallett is starring in a Broadway show, and Greg Beasley has become the next "Big Pun."

I wonder whatever happened to that cooking show I liked--the one with Heather Davies-- something about an explosion... Its replacement show, Judge Jocelyn Washington, is just as good, though. She always tells it like it is.

I turn off the TV to go catch my flight at Griffin International. Who knew Heather Griffin's fleet of planes in the Woodville area would expand so far?

April Glasscock, Nakia Kennell, and Cassie Quillin are my stewardesses.

After landing, I get picked up by a taxi driven by Linda Short, and we listen to my favorite radio program, Dr. Laura Craig.

On the way home, we pass by a tattoo and piercing parlor owned by

Cameron Coston and Christina Schee, a Bigfoot shoe store owned by Cameron Rhinehart, and Stephanie Morgan's Truckstop.

Back in Gurdon, Thomerson's Drug Store is now owned by Cassie Lynn and the Forget Me Knot Shop is owned by Charlie Robertson.

Christina Currey is president of International Paper where Cole Carpenter and Michael Leonard work.

Wade Brown and Billy Campbell own a body shop specializing in rim painting.

A new place in town is Exotic Village owned by Kelli McKinnon and Linda Fuller. They produce animal printed Go-Go boots.

At the reunion I learn that Tiffany Ware is the Lady Go-Devil basketball coach, John Mosley is the leader of the Mighty Go-Devil band, Latasha Berry has become GHS's official mascot (no costume necessary), and Bryan Anderson has taken over the Classy Moments section of the Gurdon Times.

Waylon Smith has lived out his dream of becoming sheriff, Michael Grayson has become a lawyer, and Derek Anderson has become a real "D.A."

Not in attendance are Trey Burchfield and John David Coston, who went searching for wood-glue after graduation and were never heard from again.

Also missing are Chady Calley and Crystal Simpson, who are busy cheering on Brannon Hatley at a Dallas Cowboy football game.

Brandon Gattis, who has not yet gotten over the shame of trying out for Chippendales, but having to settle for Chuckie Cheese, has not shown up either.

I'm told Andrew Wilson has made it at last into West Point (age 43).

Rashun Hopson has also gone into the armed forces.

Brandon Ellis is the next Power Team member from Gurdon and is currently overseas.

I'm glad to know everyone met my expectations.
