Dwight Randall PankeyATKINSON FUNERAL HOME of MALVERNPublished Wednesday, May 24, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune Dwight Randall Pankey, 68, of Malvern, passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2000, at Hot Spring County Medical Center . Mr. Pankey was born April 3, 1932, at Prescott to Jack Randall and Marie Maddox Pankey. He was reared and educated in Emmet and attended LeTourneau Tech in Longview, Texas. He joined Arkla Gas in 1951, leaving in 1957 to become an Arkansas State Trooper for eight years. He returned to Arkla Gas in 1971, where he retired in 1992 as division corrosion technician. In 1952 he married Freida Marie Hale. Of this union they had three children. They moved to Malvern in 1972. Mr. Pankey was a Mason and of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed working on his yard and creating woodwork in his shop for his family and friends. He loved working with computers and shared this passion with his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Freida Marie Pankey of Malvern; one son and his wife, Madison and Sheila Pankey of New DeRoche; two daughters, Melanie and husband John Conrad of Stuttgart and Randalee Milburn of Malvern; a sister, Barbara Ulvestad of Sand Point, Idaho; six grandchildren, Jason Graham of Stuttgart, Mandi Graham of Little Rock, Brandi Milburn of Malvern and Whitney Walduf, Eric Walduf and Erin Pankey of New DeRoche; and one great grandchild, Adrian Drin' Haggerty Jr. of Malvern. Graveside services were Saturday, May 20, at Shadowlawn Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Howard officiating. Burial was under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern.
