Emmet Awards Day Banquet HeldPublished Wednesday, May 24, 2000 in the Nevada County PicayuneEmmet School awards banquet was held Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. in the cafetorium. The welcome was given by Dr. Gene Ross, superintendent of the district. The group enjoyed a delicious meal. Frank Henson, high school principal and sponsor of the recognition banquet, introduced Dennis Washington, Police Chief of the Hermitage Police Department, who presented a very motivating-type speech. Ross and Henson awarded attendance awards to the following students: Nicole McCoy, Ashley Hodges, Amanda Hodges, Jerry Forman, Jacky Simmons, Kayla Schmitt, Jason Arrington, John Forman, James Small, Zach Hoover, Felicia Hopson, Mario Hopson, Kendall Stanhouse and Chris Jackson. Scholarship awards were presented to Josh Barham, Kelly Byrd, Nicole McCoy, Kristol Barham, Ashley Hodges, Devan McClellan, April Smithers, Amanda Hodges, Rebecca Pate, Haley Muldrow, Bryant McClellan, Brittany Daniels, Josh Putman, Lindsey Byrd, John Parmer, Kayla Schmitt, Alexis Banks, Rose Martin, Jason Arrington, Lilia Garcia, Zach Hoover, Jeana Gutierrez, Natasha Smith, Sheree Garrison, Mark Reed, Keri Schmitt, Katie Davidson, Chad Adamson, Brandi White and Kenny Grand. GCE employers receiving awards were Brookshire's, Save-A-Lot Grocery and Dairy Queen of Hope, and G&G Materials of Emmet.
