Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. Moms in Touch prayer groups for schools and children meet Tuesdays from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church. For more information call 887-6376. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott at the courthouse May 25 and June 22. Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213. White's Chapel Baptist Church will have its revival June 12-16 with services starting at 7:30 each night. Bro. Jerry Evans will be the evangelist. White's Chapel is located between Bodcaw and Willisville on County Road 7. S.C.A.N., (suspected child abuse and neglect) needs volunteers. The Laneburg Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at Monday, June 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Laneburg Baptist Church. Those interested are invited to attend. The annual Mauldin reunion will be held Saturday, May 27, at Gurdon Lake on Highway 67. It starts at 10:30 a.m. with potluck lunch to follow. Everyone is invited. The annual children's day and homecoming will be held at Midway United Methodist Church Sunday, May 28. The children's program will begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be a potluck at lunch and singing in the afternoon. All singers have a special invitation. There will be a meeting of the chief elected officials designated under WIA at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, at Western Sizzlin in Hope. All interested individuals are invited to attend. The National Guard, in conjunction with the VFW and American Legion, will be holding a memorial ceremony on May 29 at 10 a.m. on the courthouse square at the Veterans Memorial, honoring those who gave their life for their country. The original Wesson Trio Mack, Sandy and Zay and friends will be getting together for singing and visiting on Friday night, May 26, at 7 p.m. in the Prescott Housing Authority community room. Revival at Union Missionary Baptist Church will be held May 28-June 2 at 7:30 each evening. Sam Husser will be the evangelist. Friendship United Methodist Church will celebrate its 119th homecoming Sunday, June 11. The church is located on Highway 371 between Blevins and McCaskill. Singing will resume at 1 p.m. and the Friendship Cemetery report will be given at 1:30. Everyone is invited. Nevada School District will have its regular board meeting in the school library Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. Among other things the agenda includes audience with individuals or groups, resolutions, policy, student transfer request and personnel. Antioch Baptist Church of Laneburg will hold its revival services May 22-26 at 7:30 p.m. Bro. Joe Brown will be the evangelist. The annual meeting of Red Hill Public Cemetery Association will be held Sunday, May 28, at 2:30 p.m. at Red Hill United Methodist Church in Chidester.
