Published Wednesday, May 24, 2000 in the Nevada County Picayune

The Rose Garden Club met at the home of Billie McCain on May 16 at 9:30 a.m. for a brunch. Co-hostesses were Penny Richard and Barbara Stewart.

Following the delicious brunch, Betty Turner, president of the club, presided over a short business session.

There will be a planning meeting in August to work up the yearbook for next year. Plans are to include a program for elementary school children.

The group discussed making a trip to Buckner to view the day lilies in about 10 days when they will be at their peak.

Some of the members shared flower seeds with one another.

Billie McCain had a beautiful arrangement she had made for the group to enjoy.

The following officers for 2000-2001 were installed: Betty Turner, president; Penny Richards, first vice president; Nettie Lemons, second vice president; Flo Brackman, recording secretary; Betty Avery, corresponding secretary; Ida Haynie, treasurer; Evelyn Daniel, historian; an Allene Spencer, parliamentarian.
